At Huguette's the start of the school year means it's time for figs, grown in the Tarn et Garonne, at Jean Marie Cuquel's farm in Piquecos.  Fresh from the tree, take a bite - they are delicious and very rich in antioxidants.  But that's not a reason not to cook them as they can be prepared in a thousand different ways.

Fresh, dried, roasted ... they can be enjoyed with certain cheeses or in sweet and sour dishes.  Figs are also good in classic desserts : tarts, cakes and jams.  In chutney they will be enjoyed during the holiday season with foie gras.
